Sands and Tommy’s appoint Georgia Stevenson as Head of our Joint Policy Unit

We’re pleased to announce that Georgia Stevenson has been appointed as Head of the Sands & Tommy’s Joint Policy Unit.

Georgia has been an integral part of the Joint Policy Unit since 2022, most recently as our Data and Evidence Lead. In this role, she has delivered outstanding work and has been instrumental in shaping much of the analysis underpinning our annual Saving Babies’ Lives Progress Reports. Georgia also brings valuable policy experience from her time at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

Georgia said:

“I feel immensely privileged to be stepping up as the Head of the Sands and Tommy’s Joint Policy Unit. The current policy focus on maternity and neonatal care across England, Scotland and Wales provides a unique opportunity to influence policy changes which will make care safer for all. My immediate priority will be to share the best available evidence for policies that will save more babies’ lives during pregnancy and the neonatal period and tackle inequalities in pregnancy and baby loss.”

Across both organisations, we are very much looking forward to working with Georgia as she leads the Joint Policy Unit team to secure meaningful policy change to reduce rates of miscarriage, stillbirth, pre-term birth and neonatal death, and to eliminate inequalities in these outcomes.
